Healthy homemade oat flour pizza crust (easy, quick, naturally high-protein)

Want to shred off pounds but can't resist the temptation of your favorite foods? No problem! Make this ultra easy oat flour pizza crust and top with whatever your heart desires so you can satisfy your junk food cravings without worrying about your waistline!

While a cauliflower pizza crust is great, not everyone might have it at home. And that's okay - you can still make your dreams come true! All you need is two main ingredients, oats and egg whites. The egg whites will help with the needed moisture and texture for the crust while adding extra protein. Is this a dream?

If you want even more protein, you can swap some of the oats with protein powder. It's excellent either way.




Yield: 1 pizza

INGREDIENTS 

For the crust

  • 1 cup raw oats (or a little less than a cup of premade oat flour)
  • 4 medium (or about 1/2 cup) egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: Italian seasoning, garlic powder

Filling ideas:

  • Traditional style: Tomato sauce + grated mozzarella cheese
  • Hawaiian: Sauce + grated cheese + bacon + pineapple
  • BBQ Chicken: Spicy barbecue sauce + diced chicken + peppers + onion + grated cheese  


INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat the oven to 400F.

2. Place the crust ingredients into a blender or food processor. Blend until fairly smooth.

3. Transfer the oat/egg mixture into a slightly greased pan. Spread it as thick as you wish.

4. Cook on medium until the crust is a little fluffy and the edges look crispy.

5. Top with whatever you want. Place the pizza into a sheet pan and bake until the cheese has melted.

6. Cut into slices and enjoy!
