Weight loss meal ideas pt.3
Yes, folks. It's part three of this wholesome thread.
BREAKFAST: Shakshuka
Try this Israeli-style breakfast if you're tired of the same ol' omelet. This is also a great way to use up that can of tomato sauce in your pantry that isn't pasta. Smother 1/2 cup of tomato sauce (I used one that also has some hidden bits of veggies, such as carrot and zucchini - two birds with one stone!) on a pan, make two holes in it, crack 2 eggs into the holes, and let it cook until the eggs have set. This meal is delicious, easy, fast, delicious, healthy - did I mention delicious? Oh, and it's an excellent dish for those who want to lose weight but can't stand veggies. Trust me, I'm speaking from experience.
For a protein punch, top with grated cheese and/or fish.

SNACK #1: Chia pudding
Chia pudding is a wonderful, healthy snack that could pass as dessert. However, on itself it isn't that high in protein. To up the protein ante in your pudding, sneak some Greek yogurt along with chia seeds, milk and sweetener of choice. Now you have a sweet snack that fills you up with fiber, healthy fats AND protein!
LUNCH: Black bean cheesy burrito
A burrito might not be the first thing you think about when you hear "healthy", but it can be made in a way which pleases your junk food cravings without derailing from your weight loss journey. Just make sure you don't exaggerate with the cheese, and that your sauce, if you want one, isn't too high in sugar and fats.
SNACK #2: Chocolate milk
This might seem like something for kids, but it makes a perfect snack for all ages, especially post or pre workout. High in protein, carbs and absolutely fuss-free, chocolate milk will definitely help you shed pounds while satisfying your cravings.
I suggest that you make your own choc milk, as store-bought flavored drinks tend to have a bunch of ingredients you'd rather leave out. By heating up 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder with 1 tsp of honey until it forms a dark-brown paste and then mixing it with 1 cup of skim milk, you get 10g of protein in just 175 calories!
DINNER: Grilled salmon fillet
You have no idea how much I love salmon. It's tasty, flavorful, nutritious and very easy to prep. Not to mention it goes well with basically any vegetable you eat it with! Make sure your plate shines with vibrant colors because of 'em veggies. I love carrots, tomatoes and sometimes a cucumber salad as a pair for the fish.
